The resources listed here on this webpage are from a Harvest Celebration Sunday CD-ROM that contains the resource items listed below with a recommended timeline and usage. Everything in this program is a tool for your use to benefit the local church and the evangelistic efforts of the Church of the Nazarene around the world!
The resources are provided in Microsoft Word (doc) files and Adobe Acrobat (pdf) files. If you do not have these programs available on your computer, free reader software can be used;Microsoft Word Viewer and Adobe Reader. You can use these free viewers to print out the documents and then customize them by hand or "cut and paste" from these viewers into other programs that you have on your computer.
The Resource items included are:
- 3 - 4 Weeks Before:
A Pastor's Letter informing, encouraging, and inviting the entire extended mailing list to be a part of this tremendous Sunday. This should be mailed 3-4 weeks before the event. Feel free to edit, copy, insert your name, material, words, etc. as you wish.
- 2 - 3 Weeks Before:
A Flyer & Poster that can be used as a second mailing piece to remind your congregation and to continue to build excitement for the upcoming celebration. It should be mailed approximately 2 weeks before the event. It can also be included as an insert in the Pastor's letter if a one-mail method is used (if doing only one mailing, schedule it approximately 3 weeks before the event). The poster can be printed at a local "quick print" shop (Kinko's) for a nominal charge. The flyer has been designed so you can place your own dates, times, etc. in the appropriate places.
- 1 Sunday Before:
A Bulletin Insert is included for use the Sunday before the Celebration as an additional excitement builder (it can also be used for the Celebration Sunday bulletin insert). For additional resources (brochures, explanation, etc.) go to JFHP.org and click on Resources or call JESUS Film Harvest Partners at 913-663-5700.
Resources for the day of the Celebration include:
- A suggested order of service, a suggested sermon, and a PowerPoint presentation to accompany the sermon.
- An excellent DVD called "The Harvest" is available for purchase from Campus Crusade. It would be a wonderful addition to play the Sunday before to help create anticipation and focus for the upcoming Celebration. You may also find additional, free, downloadable video clips at www.JFHP.org under the Resources tab.
Final Note: This material has been produced to help you ignite the passion for lost people in your local church. The hope is that your people become involved in partnering in a ministry of evangelism around the world. They will begin receiving regular reports of actual souls saved because of their involvement. As their passion for the lost worldwide begins to grow, they will begin to look at their neighbors, friends, and associates differently - as people who also need the Savior.
After a passion has been ignited, give them the tools they need for witnessing. You'll be amazed at what God wants to do through your local church! Hopefully, you will be able to glean something of value from the material.
