Decisions and Opprtunities

Pulse Banner

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 19:10 (NIV)

Dear Friends & Partners,

You and I make thousands of big and small decisions each day.

We decide when to get up, what words to use with our friends and family members, and how we spend our time, to name a few.

Every decision we make is an opportunity

to reflect Christ in our lives.

Do you remember the day you made a decision for Christ — accepting the most important, life-changing opportunity? It is a decision that isn’t dependent on your past actions, but on God’s grace. As Max Lucado wrote, “one good choice for eternity offsets a thousand bad ones on earth.”

JESUS Film Harvest Partners is all about providing every person in the world this opportunity. Your prayers and support are helping reach people from all walks of life and cultures. Read what happened when Andrew in Sierra Leone was confronted with Christ:

“I watched the JESUS film in my community after I was invited by a friend. I agreed to go because I thought it was a movie for entertainment. I am from a Christian background, though I never went to church and hated the idea of religion.

The film made a great impact in my life. I was deeply touched when I saw Jesus washing His disciples’ feet. I felt God speaking to me to humble myself and surrender my life to Him. I watched the film all four nights. Every night, I felt God was giving me a big opportunity to turn my life over to Him.

On the last night, I finally stepped out during the altar call and gave my life to Jesus. Since that night, I have experienced great peace and my life has never remained the same.

I now find joy in the things of God—in attending church services and discipleship classes.
I desire to know more about God so I can serve Him for the rest of my life.

Within this short period of time, I have seen God move in my life.

I am seeing what I missed all the time that I was on my own.

God has been good to me. I am very grateful I now have a personal relationship with Him.”

Be blessed and encouraged today—we all can share in Andrew’s joy! I pray that your light shines brightly as you inspire others to live like Christ.

You are loved.

Roberto's story — restored relationships || End of year reminders

Pulse Banner

Dear Friends & Partners,

Take heart, God is redeeming and restoring lives around the world!

"Roberto is 72-years-old. It had been many years since he had spoken to his son. At a JESUS Film discipleship and prayer meeting, he shared he realized his need to make things right with his son. After a lot of prayers and with God’s help, Roberto went to his son’s house. He was anxious and wondering if he would even invite him in.

Roberto received a great surprise when his son opened the door of his house, receiving him with tears in his eyes and a big hug. God answered Roberto’s prayer!"

“And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.
For as members of one body you are called to live in peace.
And always be thankful.”

 Colossians 3:15 (NLT)

Dear Friends & Partners,

On this day of gratitude, I want to say a special thank you to YOU.

As a Harvest Partner, YOU are helping change lives for eternity.

I recently read David, in Ecuador's, testimony. He is one of the 567,550 precious people who made a decision for Christ this year alone! He wanted to share his story with you and express his gratitude for the impact YOU helped make in his life:

"I acquired a skin disease some time ago. It spread everywhere. It very difficult for me to withstand the stinging and pain in my body. One day, my mother, brothers, and I attended a screening of the JESUS film. Everyone was blessed, especially me. Jesus touched my life and my skin was healed, too!

I now attend a discipleship group. I have also been given the opportunity to teach children about the Word of God. I am very grateful to God for His kindness and care for me. Thank you for all you've done for my family."

I am thankful to you for making David's story possible — and many, many others — as we collectively work to give every person an opportunity to hear about Jesus.

You get the thanks and God gets the glory!

May you and yours have a blessed Thanksgiving.

You are loved.

You help heal the abused

Pulse Banner

“[God] comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those
in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

2 Corinthians 1:4 (NIV)

Dear Friends & Partners,

Do you ever feel like there is too much noise in the world?

If we escape the noise for a moment, we can hear—Jesus is calling—and He has a unique plan for our lives! Read how Lucia in Uruguay recently heard His voice:

Lucia saw a replica of her sad situation in Mary Magdalene.

Lucia was raped by her stepfather several times when she was little. She grew up with such a low self-esteem that she felt she wasn't worth anything. She thought she deserved whatever abuse she received.

She was impacted so deeply by the way Jesus treated Mary Magdalene who was demon possessed, and by the liberation Mary experienced after she gave her life to Jesus and was accepted as part of the group of disciples.

Lucia said to herself, 'If God could love a woman in that condition—surely He would do that for me.' She put her life into the hands of the Master and received Jesus as her personal Savior. Her life changed so dramatically one cannot doubt that it was truly a divine intervention.

Today her life is an example of faithfulness and service. She is in charge of a Bible study group, testifying to many about the love of God in her life and home. Lucia requested a pastor come to her home so a couple new to Christ could hear the Word and be baptized.

The wonderful power of God in her life is producing fruit.”

Lucia thought the pain and shame were too great for her to be useful to anyone—but God revealed her true value through Magdalena. He can use the very thing you're most ashamed of to become your greatest ministry in helping others.

God is using Magdalena and the JESUS film to speak to desperately hurting hearts and bruised lives—transforming them for eternity. When you pray, give, and go, you are a part of helping heal the abused around the world.

Listen to Jesus’ voice with me today—what is he calling you to?

You are loved.

You give hope to the suicidal

Pulse Banner

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

John 10:10

Suicide is undeniably a difficult topic. I've asked Joy Forney, a JFHP staff member, to share her testimony on how God has worked in her life through JFHP to help her feel more encouraged and hopeful than ever before, even after experiencing a difficult loss.

You are loved.

Dear Friends & Partners,

It was my first day of my senior year of college. I was filled with excitement....

But then I received a phone call from my dad that shattered me.

I sobbed uncontrollably as my suitemates surrounded me, sharing in my grief. I didn't lose my mom to the bottle of pills that day, I lost her to mental illness.

I lost her to mental illness in a broken world.

Five years later, the world feels more broken than it ever has...and yet, I am more hopeful and encouraged than ever before.

Working for JESUS Film Harvest Partners, I read stories of incredible transformation—stories about people who overcome brokenness to proclaim faith and hope. Jesus speaks to the lost on the screen and in their hearts—providing hope to so many in their hardest days, including me. Here are excerpts of some that have grown my faith:

"As I watched the film, I suddenly met someone who could ease my pain and give me back the joy of living." - Walda, Brazil

"...From that day on, God has been my husband, my father, my friend, my everything." -Andrea, Ecuador

"In the past, I was spiteful, full of hatred, and jealousy. I visited fetishes and wanted to hurt others. However, today I declare, all this is history with Jesus." - Dassakaté, Niger

"I have put on the clean clothes of humility and patience." - Khakam, South Asia

These words from fellow believers encourage me in my grieving. The depth of faith these new believers have after making a decision for Christ both holds me accountable to my own faith and reminds me of the magnitude of God. He is continually writing more names in the Book of Lifeworking in ways beyond what we can imagine.

These stories are not just stories. They are transformed lives. They are hope. They are second chances. They are abundant life.

I have also had the privilege of meeting some of the JESUS Film team members. They are truly passionate about reaching more people for Jesus. They meet people where they are and not only show them the JESUS film, but explain the Good News of Jesus Christ — who overcame all darkness. I appreciate your prayerful consideration of how you can support these teams today.

Thank you for letting me share some of my story with you, and thank you for helping us continue what Jesus started.

In Christ,
