Many hear God’s calling to partner with JESUS Film Harvest Partners (JFHP), but don’t know how to get involved. For faithful servants like Conni Walker from Twin Falls, ID and Diane Thompson from Tuscaloosa, AL, the answer came in becoming Kingdom Building Event Hosts.

Kingdom Building Events are banquets hosted by Harvest Partners like Conni and Diane where people from the community are invited to learn more about JFHP. Earlier this year, both women hosted an event for the first time in their home cities.

“I’m the least likely person that would ever agree to do something like that,” Conni said. “But I was grateful that God could use me.”

At the 2023 Intermountain District Assembly, Conni heard JFHP Executive Director Brian Helstrom share about the powerful ministry of the JESUS Film Teams.

“The way he talked about teaching the way Jesus teaches and the fact that so much of the overseas work is done by peoples of the areas, I was impressed. The way the teams turned on a dime when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, how they were inspired to come up with creative ways to share the gospel through technology, I was just so excited.”

Diane also felt God’s calling to become an Event Host at a JFHP presentation. She felt the voice of the Lord tell her: ‘You could do that; you could host an event.’ She wanted to share the ministry of the JESUS Film Teams with her friends and her community.

“People in our area, here in Tuscaloosa, need to know! And my husband and I accomplished that goal. The majority of the people we invited had never heard of the ministry. They maybe had heard of the JESUS film but they didn’t know the extent of it, that the teams were going to such difficult places and the reception of the people they share Jesus with.”

Becoming an Event Host was a spiritually encouraging and faith-building decision for Conni and Diane.

“It’s caused a desire in my heart to be more involved in ministry,” Conni said.

Diane also shared her reflections on the event. “It encouraged my faith so much afterwards to see people show up and listen and be blessed, I am very thankful to have been a part of this ministry.”

Though the decision to partner with JFHP as an Event Host may seem like a daunting task, Harvest Partners like Conni and Diane answered the call and now encourage others to do the same.

“Go for it, just do it!” Diane said. “Even just a little bit, do it, and God will reward you with joy in knowing that you’re helping someone else to come to know Christ.

Even though I can’t give hundreds of thousands of dollars, I can give what I can and know that it’s helping someone somewhere in the world to hear the Good News.”

“Just trust God,” Conni said. “Just do the best that you can do and trust God for the rest because He is faithful.”
