They heard the gospel in their heart language.

Dear Friends & Partners,

Last month, team members from JESUS Film team #9 traveled for seven hours to the indigenous Shuar communities of the Ecuadorian jungle.

The team shared a time of games, worship, and Bible quizzing activities with 25 children.

That evening, they invited all the surrounding communities to watch the JESUS film, and 40 people attended. When the film was finished, they shared the message of salvation and hope, and 30 people accepted Jesus in their hearts!

The next morning, the team traveled another three hours by car and two hours on foot, walking through treacherous terrain and rivers in the heart of the Amazon jungle. They finally arrived at another Shuar community covered in mud and sweat, but excited to present the message of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The community gave the team a warm welcome. They led children’s activities, and during the evening they showed the JESUS film.

The team continued their trek, making door-to-door visits, sharing the gospel, and delivering donated clothes. During the evening, they screened another movie and had a powerful time of prayer. Many accepted Jesus in their hearts; crying with joy, knowing they were free and forgiven. The team was greatly blessed, in awe of what God did.

During one of the three days spent in this community, the team shared a meal of rice and sardines with the whole community. The signs of amazement and happiness were apparent in peoples’ faces, as many don’t have access to rice or sardines.

Ecuador JESUS Film team #9 has been ministering to the Shuar communities for two years. They remain passionate about showing God’s love to those who do not yet know Him.

In Christ,

Pastor Ariel Pérez
