August - Week 1

Prayer Points

  • Severe inflation has struck Zimbabweans hard, rising as high as 175% in the last month. Teams request prayers to be prepared to serve Jesus Christ, regardless of economic conditions.

  • Praise God for the 202 Preaching Points planted in the last year. Pray that teams can train and equip the laypeople leading these church plants.

  • Pray for Zimbabwean teams to be effective in sharing the gospel with others in a time of anxiety and unknowns. Pray that they can nurture the growth of new believers, especially in rural areas.

August - Week 2

Prayer Points

  • Heavy rains from a cyclone in northern Peru have resulted in dozens of fatalities and affected 80,000 people with avalanches, floods, and landslides. Pray for the church and teams as they strive to be the hands and feet of Christ to their neighbors.

  • Peru has faced a lot of political crises and tension in the last few years. Pray for God’s peace to become deeply rooted in the country. Also, pray for these difficulties to cause more people to look to Christ for hope and salvation.

I have had very bad health and experienced deep loneliness. I feel happy to have found the Lord in my life thanks to the brothers from church. They visited my home and shared God’s love with me. This has given me a different perspective on life. Now I feel really grateful in spite of everything because my trust is in God.

August - Week 3

Prayer Points

  • Pray for God to facilitate good relationships between JESUS Film teams and the local authorities. Pray He opens doors in restricted communities that have yet to be reached with the gospel.

  • Teams request prayer for God to provide sufficient employment and provision for their families as they frequently travel for evangelism.

  • Praise God for this wonderful report from team #21: “We thank God for your continued support. You have enabled us to reach areas we never thought of entering with the message of Christ!”

August - Week 4

Prayer Points

  • Honduran teams request prayer, “that God continues to give us love, mercy, and spiritual discernment for our neighbors’ needs. We ask for God’s courage to face adversity, health, and perseverance.”

  • The economic and political instability in the country has led to a rise in gangs, poverty, violence, drug addictions, and prostitution. Pray for teams to be creative and fruitful as they share the gospel. Pray for more people to answer God’s call to be committed evangelists to those suffering in their nation.
